Thank you for visiting our school's webpage! I am Dr. LaToya Glen, principal of Mellichamp Elementary School.

With 17 years of dedicated service in Orangeburg County, I have had the privilege of working as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and interim principal. I am excited to bring my passion for public education and commitment to excellence to the Mellichamp community. Together, we will set ambitious goals, implement strategic action plans, and achieve the success we strive for. I look forward to an incredible year of growth and learning with all of you!

Greeting MelliChampions!

It is an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal here at Mellichamp Elementary. A day never goes by that I do not experience the special rewards that comes with being an educator. I am privileged to assist and observe students as they blossom throughout the school year. It is an amazing experience to see students learning and taking an interest in new experiences daily. I am currently in my twelfth year as an educator and first year as an Assistant Principal. In 2014, I became a part of the Mellichamp family teaching 4th grade and later becoming the reading coach. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Master of Arts degree in Counseling Education both from South Carolina State University, K-12 School Administration Add-on from Gardner-Webb University, and I have also earned endorsements for Read to Succeed Teacher and Read to Succeed Literacy Coach.

I look forward to being a piece of the puzzle that will help our children here at Mellichamp grow in all areas.
