Orangeburg (Sc) Chapter Of The Links, "Rosebuds" After-School Club
The "DREAM Circle" after-school program was started in collaboration with Mellichamp Elementary School to close the achievement gap. This multifaceted program with the tagline – "Little Girls with Dreams become Women with Visions" began in the fall of 2018. The participants are called Rosebuds. The program aims to work collectively with a target group of elementary school girls to promote high academic achievement, address health disparities, encourage health and fitness, and be responsive to their social-emotional needs.

Horticultural Therapy Afterschool "Gardening Club"
Horticultural therapy connects people to plants, gardens, and nature in ways that increase well-being. This program aims to introduce our students to the wonders of growing things as a means to build resilience and self-esteem.

Mellichamp Girls & Boys Champion Club
The Girls and Boys Champion Club utilizes the Girls In Real Life Situations (G.I.R.L.S) and the Boys Champion curriculum for the lesson for each session. These programs are intended to give girls and boys an opportunity to feel empowered. The club also provides a means for students to gain self-awareness, improve daily problem-solving skills, feel connected with other girls/boys, and make healthy decisions. In addition, each student participates in a coming of age culmination ceremony at the end of their sessions.

Mellichamp National Jr. Beta Club
The National Jr. Beta Club is the nation's largest independent, educational, non-profit, and student-centered organization. The club develops and nurtures students by promoting the ideals of worthy character, excellent leadership skills, commendable citizenship, exemplary academic achievement, and outstanding service in a global community. The Mellichamp Elementary School National Beta Club is committed to providing students with positive experiences in schools and comprises 4th-5th graders.

Mellichamp Boys Council
The Boys Council Prevention Group is designed to foster self-esteem help boys maintain an authentic connection with peers. The program also teaches boys not to develop self-doubt and allows for genuine self-expression through verbal sharing and creative activity.

Mellichamp Mentoring Program
Mellichamp Elementary School's mentoring program fosters an environment that provides our children with new avenues for life experiences, educational and career paths, more substantial incentives for attending school, and increased confidence in their ability to succeed.
