At Mellichamp Elementary School, our instructional approach is rooted in the South Carolina Academic Standards, which are available on the South Carolina Department of Education's website at ed.sc.gov/instruction/standards. We believe in the potential of every student to learn and excel through high-quality instruction, assessment, and targeted interventions. As such, our aim is to ensure that each child not only meets their individual targets but also progresses toward mastery of grade-level standards.

We also recognize that every adult in our school community, from the cafeteria staff and custodians to the teachers and office staff, plays a crucial role in fostering academic excellence.
